FAQ About Car Washes
A basic wash includes a thorough exterior cleaning, water spots removed, cleaning of the wheel wells (wheels too), undercarriage sprayed down for salt/debris removal and rinse. The final touch is to clean around door jambs allowing us to remove any visible buildup or dirt before proceeding with interior details.
This is a matter of opinion, however, most people usually wash their car once a month. If you drive your car in areas where there is lots of contamination and dirt I would suggest more frequent washes. There are many variables that come into play such as if your vehicle is garaged or not and how often you use it.
There are basically two types of car washes, touchless and rollover. Touchless automatic washes tend to clean better than rollovers because it is more thorough. Rollovers tend to miss spots, especially around door jambs. With the increased use of water reclamation systems these days, touchless car washes can be just as environmentally friendly as a rollover.
The quick answer is no, as long as you use a reputable car wash. Many of the touchless washes now use water reclaim systems and some even recycle their own chemicals to reduce waste. The higher-end automated hand wash places usually have gel-type solutions that are more gentle on your car than traditional soap and water-based solutions.
